Throughout the confusion on Sanctuary 404 where the Imperial Ecclesiarchy were trying to save the planet amidst the onslaught of the Necrons, Tyranids, Orks and Eldar, Captain Trips led a campaign to erode the veil between the planet and the Garden of Nurgle.
In a temporary alliance with Typhus the Herald of the Plague God, a portion of the planet was currupted and the droning of bloated flies could be heard for miles....

After successfully repelling the combined forces of Chaos during the battle for St Orpheus, a seemingly insignificant planet at the back reaches of the Finial Sector called Temic V fell silent.
It was here that the Heralds fled to after the unsuccessful attempts at summoning a Greater Daemon on St Orpheus and they again attempted to bring ruin to the sector....

Responding to the call of their Primarch, Mortarion, the Heralds -re-joined the legion in order to campaign among the Plague Wars in Ultramar space.
After being driven back during the "Spear of Espandor" counter by the forces on the Imperium, the Heralds have fallen back to safer territories in order to regroup and continue their merciless campaign of rot and sickness to the lackies of the False Emperor...

Champion of the Heralds of the Scourge warband
With his real name lost to the dark tomb of history, Captain Trips leads the Death Guard warband in the mission of spreading the vectors of disease across the galaxy in the name of Grandfather Nurgle.
One of three brothers that were taken from their homeworld, Trips is the only surviving member.
The banner of flayed flesh he carries on his Terminator armour is where he pays homage to one of the brothers, with the skulls of his slayers hanging beneath the remains.
What happened to the other sibling is unconfirmed, but rumoured to be the servitor that he keeps close by when aboard his Battle Barge...

Mortarion, also known as the “Pale King,” the “Death Lord” or the “Prince of Decay” after he turned to Chaos, was one of the original twenty Imperial primarchs created by the Emperor of Mankind.
At present, Mortarion is the greatest Daemon Prince of Nurgle and the Daemon Primarch of the Death Guard Chaos Space Marines.

Commander of the Terminus Est, Typhus is feared whereever he goes. A formidable psyker and host of the Destroyer Hive, his rot-infested Cataphractii armor is decorated with skulls, spikes, and Nurgle icons.
