The Cartographica

The Cartographica was a 1-Day event held in order to raise money for MacMillan Nurses

The campaign saw factions and their Warlords coming to blows on Ossivar IX when a relic from the Dark Age of Technology was rumoured to have resurfaced.

12 participants battled it out across the 3 different areas of Ossivar IX: the outer wastelands, the capital city and the industrial sector

Each player was able to use their "Gambit" card in order to gain a tactical advantage over their opponent, but those that were successful soon realised that it came at a cost...

The Cartographica is a relic of the Dark Age of Technology, originating from a time when humanity possessed mastery over sciences now considered impossible.

Constructed as a tri-segmented device, it consists of three core components:

ASTRYX:
Stellar positioning and coordinate mapping

GRAVITAS:
Spatial and gravitational calculation matrices

TRANSITUS:
Activation and execution systems

During the Great Crusade, fragments of the device were discovered by a Mechanicum Explorator fleet.

Initial analysis suggested it was a navigation system capable of mapping safe warp routes through unstable regions.

Before it could be fully studied, and as the galaxy was torn asunder by the treachery of Horus, the fleet was lost.

Now, on Ossivar IX, the device is reactivating.

Modern analysis would suggests a far more disturbing truth:

The Cartographica does not chart routes.......

+++
It executes them.
+++

+++
It does not guide fleets.
+++

+++
It moves them.
+++

All in all it was a great day and while many 1's and 6's were rolled, stories of great victories and heroic last stands were told, ultimately money was raised for a good cause
